The new world star
The 2022/2023 football season saw the new world star Erling Braut Haaland shine. He reached the extraordinary milestone of 52 goals in 53 matches played, an impressive average that led him and his team, Manchester City, to win the hat-trick, a coveted title in Europe as it includes winning the league, the League Cup and the UEFA Champions League.
On Monday 9 October 2023, after voting by Community 433, a well-known football-themed social media company, the footballer was elected as 433 Men’s Player of the year.
433, through a collaboration with a Dutch jewellery manufacturer, presented the athlete with a commemorative sports ring depicting last season’s achievements.
Erling, the son of Alf-Inge Haaland, is considered one of the best of his generation, growing up in the youth academy at Bryne in Norway, before moving to Molde and then to Europe; his first appearances with Salzburg show how talented the youngster is and he is beginning to be coveted by the big clubs.
In 2020 at Borussia Dortmund he showed his true potential, before joining Pep Guardiola’s court at Manchester City with whom in just two years he achieved incredible goals such as 60 goals in 64 appearances, a record that could easily be broken.
